    About

Will Consider Trades. ~ - Phone number removed -

Cruiser was green-broke as a three-year-old and never tried to buck--ever!
Tuffs True Cruiser (2000 APHA/PtHA black/white stallion) is not only homozygous for tobiano--but also carries an attached overo gene that tests negative for OLWS (Overo Lethal White Syndrome), which he has been able to pass on to his offspring. Tontos Revenge (out of a solid mare) was a tob/overo that, like his sire, tested NEGATIVE for OLWS (All UC-Davis tested).

Cruiser is a kind and gentle stallion - when the grandkids come, it is Cruiser that they hand feed, for he is so careful to open their little hands with his lips that I never worry about a pinched finger. Cruiser was completely imprinted at birth, which I did during the first four hours after his birth. Like Cruiser, his dam has an extremely passive disposition and I was able to do this with her loose in the same stall.

I am retired now and have sold my broodmares, so Cruiser needs to find a new home where he can pass on his unique genetics. He has excellent conformation, can change leads effortlessly, has good hard black/black-striped feet that only need trimmed about once a year to keep them looking perfect, and he can be handled safely by anyone. We have drawn blood and given him shots out in the pasture without even putting a halter on him.

With his exceptional pedigree, conformation, beauty, disposition, and uniquely rare genetics, Cruiser has the potential for being a foundation sire for a line of OLWS Negative overo horses--potentially creating homozygous overo horses! When I talked with them at UC-Davis, I was told that they had tested only three others like him in the world and more than anything I want to see these genetics passed on. Trades considered: Please call for pricing details; Special consideration will be given to the right buyer. I am also offering a 10% finder's fee to anyone linking me to a buyer!

Imagine, creating a line of overo horses and not having to worry about the dreaded OLWS in them! Ideally, he should be bred to all solid (breeding stock) APHA mares that test Negative for OLWS, thus producing tob/overo horses that do not carry OLWS. The tobiano genetics can then be bred out by crossing these offspring with more solid mares to get overo horses that do not carry OLWS ~ - Phone number removed -
