In lovely, gently used condition, this is an excellent Hennig Sofa dressage saddle with an 18ins seat and wide width fitting, which we measured to be 5.25ins. The saddle flaps are slightly shorter than the regular 17ins. These are 16ins. The saddle was either custom made or custom altered as there is a surname on the stamp.

In the region of the ischial tuberosity and the pubis, the corresponding parts of the saddle tree are recessed and replaced by a special foam filling.

Thanks to the patented division and widening of the saddle tree in the rear third, Hennig were able to interrupt the pressure axis created during riding. Weight and pressure is transmitted as required only in the cross-buttock axis. This allows the desired shock absorption and thus back-friendly riding for horse and rider.
