“Goliath” is a 10yr old, 18hh, Perch/Belgian cross gelding. Are you looking for a horse that you can brag about?? Take a look at this gentle giant!!! If this boy could come into your house and sit on your lap, he would…. He is a puppy dog stuck inside of a large horses body!

Where do I even start with this boy…. Let’s start with the word SAFE. Safe, on the ground, safe under saddle, safe under harness. This boy is a true gentleman. Goliath has a heart of gold and an extremely loving personality. He wants attention, he will fall asleep with his head in your arms. He is so dearly loved by all of us. He has gentle ground manners, absolutely not pushy at all. He will stand on the cross ties all day long to be pampered, groomed, tacked, bathed, etc. He loves bath time. He has zero bad habits in the stall, and hangs his head out asking for pets. He is a babysitter in the pasture and goes out with anyone and can also be turned out alone. He is the FIRST one at the gate every morning. He comes running when called. He is safe with children, dogs running around his feet, beginners, etc. I would put his lead rope in the hands of a toddler and trust that he would be gentle. Goliath loads and trailers very well.

On the trails, Goliath is nimble and has a great pace. He is not an annoying slow draft horse that you have to kick along every step. He watches where he puts his feet, and maneuvers obstacles very well. He will cross logs, rocks, water, climb hills, safe with bikes, traffic, dogs, and other things you may come across on the trails. He will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. He is brave and willing, and safe for anyone to trail ride. You could throw your grandma on him and he will take care of her. He is safe enough for straight beginners, yet not too pokey for more advanced riders. Goliath has been ridden everywhere in town. He is 100% traffic safe and safe with machinery etc, he is not spooky. He will go when asked, and walk around on a loose rein when asked. You can canter him through fields on the buckle and enjoy your ride! This boy is patient and kind.

Goliath rides english, western, bareback, double, you name it. I have given many beginners pony rides on him, he stands patently at the block for mount and dismount. He is not bothered by unbalanced riders and he is very forgiving. In the ring, Goliath will walk, trot, and canter. He is more whoa than go, but goes when asked. He picks up the correct lead and has very lovely, smooth gaits. He has a great whoa button as well. We ride him in a regular O-ring snaffle. I have even asked him to pop over fences in the ring and he has done it! He is a horse that will do anything to please you. His goal is to make you happy and to take care of you. He will pop over logs in the woods as well.

Goliath is broke to drive single and double. He has been shown under harness, and has been used for weddings. I was told that you can drive him in a halter and lunge lines. I don’t have a harness and carriage large enough for him, therefore I don’t have driving video.

This boy is an easy keeper with no maintenance or supplements. Goliath has stolen our hearts and if I could, I would keep this horse forever. From personality to looks, he has got it all! Goliath is ready to find his forever home, and put smiles on others faces. He has been so easy to have around. You don’t find horses like this every day.
