Yellowstone Ike was born and raised on our farm (we also raised his mother). Ike was sired by world champion Southern Sunrise’s Golden Image and out of Ebony’s June, who was sired by Jester’s Ebony.
Ike is a beautiful golden palomino (easy on the eye) 4-year-old blue papered, registered Missouri Foxtrotter gelding,
standing at 15.3 hands tall. Ike has a nice flatfoot walk. He also does a running walk, foxtrot, and has a canter or short lope.
Ike was trained using the Clinton Anderson fundamental training method with some intermediate and advanced exercises. I worked and rode him during a one-day Clinton Anderson clinic we held at our barn with Jeff Davis as the clinician.
Undersaddle Ike will back, yield his front quarters and back quarters, side pass, open and close gates. Ike has done cattle sorting at Ava Mo. He has shown in some performance classes, he has been ridden in the woods and on the trail, and he crosses water. Yellowstone Ike will bow, lay down, and sit up.
Yellowstone Ike needs to be paired with a confident intermediate rider.
