Rosita was a rescued starvation case about 2 years ago. I adopted her because I love the breed and my heart went out to her. She has come a long way this last year and has regained her trust in people and is so sweet and affectionate. She has blossomed with good nutrition and love and patience. She remains skittish at loud noises but never acts stupid or aggressive. I live very remote on a rocky and steep terrain. I'm 65. There is no cell service so I'm hesitant to trail ride her. She has wonderful , hard, feet . She will not allow her feet to be touched and I sense she has been thrown to the ground at some point. The terrain keeps her feet in good shape but because of the steepness and rocky road, I just feel this lovely lady needs to be on flatter, softer ground and with a small person who will love her forever. Because she is 20 , I am reluctant to run the ad for fear she will end up in bad hands and on the wrong truck. I love this little mare and want the best for her. The adoption fee will go back to the rescue group that saved her so they can continue to help other horses in jeopardy. She loves to be groomed and hugged and has wonderful ground manners. I think she has had a lot of training in her day. She displays a very pretty gaited movement. Someone who knows and appreciates the breed will have a best friend in this girl. She so wants that connection. I will reluctantly let her go to an approved home only. If interested p,ease call, text or email and we can talk.
