Tigger is a 11 year old absolutely stunning gelding. With a compact body and unbelieveable long mane, his body glows like a copper penny in the sun. If you are looking for flashy and well gaited, you are looking at the right horse because he has it all.
He is one special horse. I have had him for 4 months. He is full of personality and loves attention. He is one of the barn favorites. He loves to make you laugh and loves to eat people food, including potato chips and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
He is compact, well gaited, and does not come out of gait when ridden. He has a beautiful canter on both leads. He is surefooted on steep terrain. He has been Pebble Beach Certified, he has been to Pt Reyes and all over Mt. Diablo. He has seen buses, bikes, traffic, dogs, hikers, deer, turkeys, coyotes, cows and has even had blue herons fly at him. See videos below.
He has been to the beach several times and even had a kite with a flying octopus by him. He has seen hikers with back packs, hikers with sticks, and hikers with kids on their back. He will step over logs or jump them if they are too big to walk over. He will pretty much do what you ask him to do. He is not spooky and if nervous may get a little faster, or go wide around the scary object but does not spin, buck or rear. If he does spook it is in place. He will even let your dog sit on his back or walk under his legs if they are not horse savvy. I have even opened a huge map on his back while riding. He goes through water and will ride front, middle or back. He opens gates, side passes, backs up, stands for mounting from ground or mounting block, can do a turn on the forehand or haunches. He leg yields and gaits nicely in both indoor and outdoor arena.
He is a forward walking horse and is not going to walk slow with slow quarter horses. He is best suited for someone who is an advanced beginner who likes a forward horse, willing to take lessons or an intermediate rider. He needs someone with horse sense. He is not a dull throw anyone on him kind of horse. He is a fun horse who loves to explore and go places and looking for a rider with the same goals. . Someone who wants to ride and spend some fun time in the saddle. He has been ridden alone and in groups of 6 people. I vet checked him, he had his teeth done, fecal test, regularly shod, shoes in front, barefoot behind. Legs clean, no injuries, no history of colic. His owners have retired and moved and left me a great horse to sell.
