Dakota is a 15 to 15.1hh, 11 year old, Buckskin Quarter Horse gelding 4 little white socks and black markings above them. He is well built horse with a good bone structure. Dakota has been used as a ranch horse and has been trail ridden in several western states as well including Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana. He has been used to doctor calves and used at brandings. More recently he has been earning his keep as a trail horse and over the last 3 years he has been trail ridden and camped in several Eastern states including Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee. He has saw everything possible on the trails including all types of wildlife. He will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough rocky areas. He is safe in traffic safe whether that be trucks or cars. He is a gentle laid back type of horse that most anyone can ride. Dakota has a nice western pleasure type of jog that is smooth to ride, his lope is slow and easy! He neckreins and backs as well. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. Dakota is not cinchy, cold backed, does not crib or weave and will not try to pull back when he is tied.
