Utah Man Reunited With Horse After 8 Years Apart
News General Equestrian
Toby is a true gem of a horse. He can be ridden without a bridle, saddle & just his lead rope hanging around his neck.If you’re looking for a reliable trail horse safe for the entire family to enjoy, Toby would be making you a great fit. He is the all-around horse that is about impossible to find anymore. He is not a spooky or nervous horse at all.
Toby has a smooth 4 beat gait ;You just have to sit there and hold the reins. He will keep a consistent, smooth gait & doesn’t mind walking on a loose rein while trail riding with a simple smooch.. In large groups you can drop the reins around Tobys neck and all the other horses will leave him behind & it never had phased him he will just walk along not paying attention to the other horses leaving him.He will move on out to his running walk gait. He will instantly stop with a simple “Woah” or gentle pulling back on the reins. He listens to voice commands and will work off of leg pressure excellently. Toby has been trained with natural horsemanship methods. He will neck rein, backs up, spins like a quarter horse, canters, herds cattle or miniature donkeys as you can see in the videos! He is a horse that has a head full of sense and is willing to learn new things. He doesn’t mind dogs running out from all directions under his legs, we have introduced several new things & he has adjusted so well! I can go on all day telling you all about this amazing horse, and he’s the kind that is a true pleasure to ride every time you climb on.We have personally trail-ridden Toby several miles on trails by himself or with a group of friends. He does great & acts the same with either. He Doesn’t mind being in the back of the group, leading or in the middle! It doesn’t get too steep or rough; he will cross/go anywhere you point his head without any hesitation, crossing downed trees cut up, water, mud puddles, ditches & the rocky steep terrains that we have here in Southeastern Kentucky while still being sure-footed & takes his time with every step completely trusting the rider to guide the way! Has been ridden along the country roads around our home, where he has encountered farm equipment, other livestock running alongside the road (cows, horses, goats jumping around), dogs running out, barking, loud vehicles passing, and ATVs. Well behaved getting a haircut, taking baths, tacking up, loading & unloading in a trailer, being shod (has four new kegs all around)
We spend time with our horses training them with natural horsemanship methods creating a human-animal relationship with respect and trust from our horses!
Of course, NO bad habits/vice we have ever seen out of him like rearing up, kicking, bucking, biting, barn weaving, cribbing, or barn/buddy
Call today and schedule to take this boy out on a real trail ride with us. We can leave directly from our barn & go into part of the Daniel Boone National Forest!
