Mother Horse Suffers Depression After Losing Her Foal Until She Met An Orphaned pony
A horse called Zindita felt lost and suffered depression after she delivered a stillborn foal.
Doctors then introduced her to a baby horse who had lost her mom and incredible things happened.
In 2016 Zindita was due to welcome her foal into the world when she started giving birth too early and her baby was upside down in the womb, making the birth extremely risky…
Experts from the Equiception Center we able to save her but her foal was sadly stillborn.
"So we don't just put embryos in mares, sometimes we have to also pull them out, and unfortunately not always with a happy ending. Luckily the mare is alive and well. Realities of breeding horses," the centre wrote on Facebook.
Zindita suffered from depression following her stillbirth, but things started to look up shortly after.
Only a few days later a veterinarian told the staff members that a different foal lost her mom during her birth. Doctors saw an opportunity to make the pair happier and they chose to bond the two.
"Two days ago, a group of people came together, working as a team. Saving a mare in labour but losing the foal," the centre wrote." Today a group of people, working together, the same mare as two days ago, was introduced to a foal who had lost her mom."
Within an hour of introducing the pair, they were inseparable, which was surprising as mother horses don't often take notice of foals who aren't their own, however, Zindita fell in love with her new baby instantly.
The horses have continued to bond ever since and Zindita takes great care for her young horse.
