He is sire by the Colombian World Champion Stallion Barba roja de la Thania. Barba roja has 28 big championships.He has been selected as the best fino stallion because of his success.

Shadow 's dam Graciosa de la Libertad is sire by El Classico de Plebeyo. Among Classico 's many show ring titles are 1992 PFHA Grand National Fino Champion and 1993 and 1994 PFHA reserve Grand National Fino Champion.

Graciosa de la Libertad 's dam Graciosa is sire by Amadeus de Resorte Cuarto .Amadeus is one of the most influential breeding stallions today from Colombia with more than 1900 offspring. He has been named Fuera de Concurso , Campeon de Campeones , Mejor Jefe de Raza and Mejor Caballo del año (for 5 consecutive years) in Colombia , as well as a Top Ten Sire for the PFHA for many years.

Shadow is also Great Gran Son of the World Champion Tormento de la Virginia .Shadow has other notable horses in his lineage such as Manjar ,El Director de Daguao, Promesa de Besilu , Plebeyo and more.
