Utah Man Reunited With Horse After 8 Years Apart
News General Equestrian
Cedar has been with us for about 10 years and has done nothing but ranch work, team roping, and more ranch work. He has been a very good horse for us and we want him to go somewhere that he will be very loved and taken care of. We got him from a friend who recently passed away, so that being said, he means a lot to us. The reason for selling is, we have two new filly's that need to be trained and we were in hopes to have him for our daughters because of his size but he is still just too high strung for them.
Cedar has been going off and on lame on his back hind leg if he is rode too hard and we have had the vet come out. He recommended that he has wedge shoes on his back feet due to not having any heels so he does require wedged shoes.
Cedar has been rode in every kind of climate you can think of from snow, rain, thunder. ( Colorado weather ). He has been ridden in mountains, plains, pens. He has done EVERY aspect of ranch work. He is very quick on his feet and is FAST in a run but also SMOOTH. If there was an award for smoothest trot and lope, I think he would get it! Cedar has roped everything from a calf to a bull. Even though he is small, it doesn't stop him from yanking a cow around. With his age however, we do not rope big stuff on him anymore or ride him as hard, but he could definitely do branding pen still, some pasture roping, moving cows, ect.
He is an awesome heel horse as well and my husband has won roping's on him.
-He also just had his teeth floated 1.5 yrs ago.-
