Foaled and trained here, “Boo” is a mild tempered stallion with beautiful color, markings, and a personality to match. Imprinted at birth, there isn’t much you cannot do to this horse, and anything that might startle him, is quickly overcome in a few minutes. I have used the Clinton Anderson method on him since birth, but not a regularly as I should. He currently uses a snaffle, and western saddle with all the bling (busk cinch, breast collar, ect. ) Not a fan of spurs, but I have used them for training. Stands for grooming, farrier, vet, worming, shots, and clippers (never done the ears). No shoes needed; dogs, cat’s tractors, vehicles no problem. Loves a bath, UTD on vet visits and shots, dental check last month along with a power dose worming. Never been bred, I tried but my mare was very unreceptive, even with a vet.
One the ground his is proficient in round pen, longline - walk, trot, canter, changing gait with a point of a finger. Changes direction with a tilt of the head or step in front of the driveline, yields the hindquarters, the forequarters, and is starting side passing. Flex and c-patterns no problems, I spent more time working on the ground then riding him. His lead beside can be a little stallionish at times, but is good after he gets a workout. He has jumped up a 4-5 foot embankment and down a 2-3. Saddling is no problem and in most cases will open his mouth for the bit.
Under saddle he is proficient in walk, trot, and cantering (still some work to be done here, he is young). He enjoys the trail more than the area, and is sad to return when I ride the 10 acres. I have loaded him into a slant load trailer with no problem, he will follow me anywhere, never tried a straight load. The bad: cantering might have a hiccup once in a while. Tends to be lippy, and off you ignore it, nippy. Can untie any tie if left there long enough. I have to us a trailer tie-down. He is ready for any direction.
Reason for sale: I broke my leg and he will sit for another 6-8 months before I can get back to him. I have to use a trailer tie, because he can untie anything. Last but not least, I am the only one that has worked with him.
Pre- purchase inspection included in price up to $300.00
