    Brenderup Baron One TC

    TrailersHorse TrailersAvailablePrivate Party

This trailer is in excellent shape, with an inspection done in June 2020 and new tires in July 2020 that have less than 500 miles on them. Sadly for sale because I just acquired a second horse and purchased a 2 horse trailer.

As with all Brenderups, you can tow the Baron One safely with many of today's smaller, more fuel-efficient SUVs and trucks. To get an idea of how easy it is to tow, here are Brenderup’s minimum requirements for the tow vehicle:
    • At least 125 horsepower
    • Wheelbase of at least 93.5 inches
    • Must be able to handle the loaded tongue weight of approx. 170 lbs.

These days, nearly every 6-cylinder vehicle has well over 200 horsepower, so the power requirement is easily met or exceeded. Most smaller SUVs have a wheelbase of 105 inches or more, so you don’t have to look hard to find a vehicle with the required size. Even compact SUVs and smaller trucks are usually rated to accommodate a hitch weight of 300 lbs. or more when equipped with a factory towing package, so that requirement is easy to meet, too. I’ve towed this trailer easily this for years with my Toyota 4Runner. Incredibly easy to turn and park.

What's neat about the Baron One is that it has the size to accommodate one horse up to 18 Hands AND, rare in a one-horse trailer, it has a dressing room - Brenderup's patented InstaTack. Pop up the tack compartment lid after you arrive at your destination and you have a standing-height dressing room - InstaTack! Leave the lid down during travel to let plenty of light stream in through the large tinted front window.

Unlike narrow one-horse trailers of the old days, the Baron One has a generous 51 inch body width - the stall isn't quite a box stall, but it's roomy!

The Baron One TC weighs approximately 1700 lbs. and carries only about 5% of its weight on the tongue. Even with a very large horse & tack on board, the Baron One will put only about 170 lbs. on your hitch. A regular 2 horse trailer (without dressing room) typically puts more than 500 lbs. on the hitch, so it's easy to see why you don't need a huge vehicle to tow the Baron One. Less weight is easier to pull. Less tongue weight helps keep the tow vehicle level - better for steering control.

Brenderups feature a simple but clever chassis design that doesn't require a heavy tongue weight for directional stability. Brenderup trailers have been in production since the early 1950s and have been here in the States since the early 1980s, so the design is well proven on roads all over the world.

Brenderups have Inertia Brakes, which apply braking force automatically in proportion to the load in the trailer. No need for a brake controller. Inertia brakes are simple, fast-acting & reliable.

Here are some notable Baron One TC features:
    • Aerodynamic shape and light tongue weight – you don’t need a large vehicle to tow it!
    • Solid Phenolic Core (SPC) walls - tough, quiet, low heat transmission • Long-lasting galvanized steel frame
    • Strong but light unitized construction • Groom door on each side • InstaTack Dressing Room with saddle racks, blanket bar, and a shelf.
    • Adjustable butt bar with fast-action latch • Adjustable height chest bar
    • 5-way opening window on each side for light and ventilation • Large, tinted front window
    • Easy-lift 5' tall rear ramp; ramp mat has convenient toeholds
    • Rear storm panel - run with it up or down (for additional light & ventilation)
    • Smooth-riding torsion axles with Shock Absorbers (you won't find those on most trailers!)
    • Inertia Brakes on all wheels (no brake controller required in the tow vehicle)
    • Radial tires, including spare tire
    • Bright, reliable LED tail and marker lights
