Gambler is as close to bombproof as you can find in a 7 year old. He has been worked with tarps, plastic bags, bull whips, ropes, hula hoops, plastic kids sleds, party horns, cars, atvs, etc. Basically if it’s safe to have around a horse I’ve probably tried it. He has been on all day trail rides and has picket lined over night. He crosses water, ditches, and logs. Is traffic safe and has been ridden on the road. He goes up and down hills, over wooden bridges, and through deer paths. He knows how to lunge well and has excellent ground manners. Stands well for the farrier and is always a vet favorite. Up to date on vaccines and worming and trimmed 10/16. Typically we ride in all 4 shoes because we tend to ride on rocky trails but if you have gentle paths to ride on you may get away without them. Has a decent neck rein (ie not by any means reining horse trained but I almost never ride him with more than 1 hand) and he moves well off your leg. I started working with him on side passing but he is not finished and would need more work with that if that is something you desire. He backs beautifully. Rides in a simple double jointed snaffle. Has all 3 gaits but his right lead is very sticky so while I think he could excel in the correct lesson program that is something that would need work. Will ride in front middle or back of a group. Group size is typically around 2-5 but he has been on a couple larger rides with 20+ horses. He will ride alone as well but he is less confident so advanced beginner plus level rider in that instance. Easy keeper. He has been ridden primarily western but has had an English saddle on as well. Loads and trailers very well. He takes new things very well. A friend and I had him pull us on a plastic sled last winter and from the time we pulled him out of pasture to the time he was pulling someone on the sled with someone riding was maybe 20 minutes. He has carried both horn and cantle bags and we’ve eaten lunch and opened sodas on him no problem. He is fine with the dogs running near his feet and has had kids on him in a round pen. Respectful of fencing. Please note that the best way to reach me is via text but that I do have a day job so I may not respond until I have a break.

Edit: we had pulled him from the market in the fall because an acquaintance was supposed to lease him. That fell through and I will not be making that mistake again. He is for sale until I have cash in hand.
