Ranger is a knockout! He’s the whole package – SAFE, gentle, seasoned trail horse, solid in the arena, and GORGEOUS! This heavy built draft cross gelding wears a number 1 shoe, and has the bone and substance to carry a taller or heavier rider without needing the mounting block to get on! Ranger is a solid, tried and true mountain trail horse, who has crossed bridges and rivers, navigated down timber and rocky hillsides, lead the trail ride or followed along quietly, and loves a good lope across the field when asked. Ranger has pushed cattle on the long drives. We have put packs on him a few times and he is happy to pack too! Ranger was trained to drive double but hasn’t been used in the cart for two years now. He was previously used pull wagons, farm equipment and driven on the roads. Ranger is an easy horse to ride in the arena, with a more ‘whoa than go’ disposition. Takes his leads without help, jogs light and soft, breaks at the poll. Rides best in the arena in two hands. Great stop and back. Not a fast paced horse, makes a timid rider feel comfortable. Not lazy, just calm and obedient. He has excellent confirmation and ground manners! Stands tied, good for the farrier, bathes, clips, excellent to catch, saddle and bridle. Catch him anywhere on big pasture or stalls happily. Loads and hauls beautifully! Freshly shod, vaccinated, dewormed and ready for his next adventure!
