Cool Catwalk Cooper “aka Chief” is a Bay Roan with Blanket, 15.3-16 hands, 6-year-old. He is registered with the Appaloosa Horse Club. He would make a solid Ranch/Trail horse for an intermediate or advanced rider. He was broke out September 2016 and he has done so much already. He was taken for trail rides at Kettle Moraine State Forest (alone or in a group), along busy roads, through water, galloped through a field, and more. He is easy to catch, and will neigh to you once he knows you, he ties very well, stands at the mounting block, had basic training for neck reining, loads and unloads with ease, and is good with the farrier, he is also extremely non-spooky. He is great with tarps, ramps and even giving sled rides to people! He gets along well with mares and geldings and is easy to break in with any herd. He wasn't used as a jumper, but definitely has the spring to be one! His pedigree shows he is bred for western pleasure, which is the way he is built, but he could go in so many directions.
If he doesn't sell before winter, I will sell next year, but price will be higher as he will be better trained.
The previous owner neglected him extremely to the point of being malnourished and lame. It took 3 months for him to become sound and gain a healthy weight. During that time, the last owner was frightened of him so he became super aggressive to people. Fortunately, with the right training and consistency, I was able to return him to his sweet, curious, sometimes stubborn, self. However, if you don't know what your'e doing or how to correct a horse, he will test you. So definitely not for a beginner.
He's always been a clicker, but doesn't have any sound issues as the vet has checked him over. It seems to go away more with consistent work. I also have a chiropractor coming out the 30th just to check out all my horses.
