“Hello trail riders! My name is “Rascal’s Little Moonshine”, barn name, Azulita. I am a 5 yr old, blue roan TWH mare, standing just shy of 15h. I am starting the process of searching for my next partner after 2.5 years of learning my role and building my skills as a formidable trail PARTNER! I received a lot of ground work and desensitizing and I have a very natural, comfortable, and easy-going four-beat walk/flat walk, inherited from the old foundation horses in my bloodline. I have a smooth running walk, but I am not a speed racker! But if what you like is that easy-going flat-walk that still covers ground, then we will be great together! I do canter! I don’t buck, bolt, rear, or bite. I am very used to dogs, gunfire, machinery, traffic, I don’t spook easily, neck rein and I move off leg pressure. I am responsive with soft and light rein/bit pressure for collection into the gaits, so I don’t need or want my person to be heavy- handed that will restrict the natural, forward movement that I have. I will step willingly into a trailer and you don’t have to lead me in. I stand for farrier, stand quietly to be bathed, cross bridges, logs, and water; and I can ride out alone or in a group. I am an experienced camping horse and can tie to hitching rails or tie lines. During the past 2 1/2 years with my current owner/partner, he has taught me many good things through his confident leadership, horsemanship skills, patience, trust, and teamwork to accomplish the things we did, so I would like for my next partner to have these same qualities, as well, and take me on continued trail adventures. Please respectfully note, I don’t need or want a “if-you-can-sit-on-a-horse, you-can-ride-me” type of person. So, I need and want a partner with horsemanship/GAITED RIDING skills (not just a passenger) that will continue to guide me and teach me more. I would do best with an advanced/skilled rider, older youth or adult, male or female. Oh, and don’t forget to take a look at my papers as I think I have some good bloodlines that might be worth passing on with the right sire! (My owner’s wife also traced back my bloodlines for both sire and dam, and I have some good foundation lines!) I just had all my vaccines and Coggins done in April 2022. Pre-purchase exam completed November 2021. Teeth floated in April 2021. I am currently shoed on all 4’s. Located in Oelwein, IA. (Northeast). My owner’s name is Jose and can be reached at - Click here to reveal phone number - after 4pm Mon-Fri (He can’t answer calls during the day while at work, but you can still leave a message or text and he will call you back). Available any time on weekends. Thank you for your consideration!
