In one word…WOW!!! That horse is stunning. You will hear that a lot when your out and about with Hidalgo. This boy is sure to steal your heart, from his stunning sorrel and white overo coloring to his eye as bright as the bluest ocean. He will win you over in a glance. He’s put together perfectly with just enough size and substance to carry any rider but not being to big for the tiny kiddos. Hidalgo is a spotted draft who stands a chunky 16.2hh at 13 years old. This boy has been ridden everywhere you may want to go, from the mountains of southern KY to the caves in TN and the fields and woods of MI. Hidalgo will take it all in stride soaking up every adventure you take him on. He’s a joy to watch move and even more so to sit on. He has the most delightful canter you will ever sit on. He knows his leads and comes equipped with excellent transitions both upward and down! Hidalgo is not a spooky or reactive kinda guy. He’s very brave and will lead the way anywhere you want to go. He is an absolute love of a horse on the ground. If you walk outside to his pasture he’s coming to say hi no matter what! He adores people and will follow you anywhere. He is also very well broke in the arena and knows most 1st level dressage moves. He mainly lives outside in a mixed group and plays very well with the others. Hidalgo stands tied for grooming, tacking, and the farrier. He has been handled by kids and adults alike. He knows when the little ones are around and he stands very still for them to braid his strawberry blond mane and tail and paint his hooves. Yes he has 4 strong black hooves and is ok barefoot. He has been ridden independently by kids as young as 7 years old and sure knows how to take care of his person! We have recently started him over fences and he’s jumping around hunter courses with ease. He again is not spooky and is happy to jump anything you ask. He keeps a very quiet and comfortable pace around a course. He has also worked on a ranch gathering cows. This is the ultimate all around horse who can be loved and used by the whole family!
