Pepinics Dancin Duke aka Duke is an AQHA registered appendix bred dapple grey gelding. Foaled May 20, 2014 and stands 15.3 hands. I have seen a lot of horses but it’s hard to find one that has the look that this gelding does. This horse is drop dead gorgeous and turns heads wherever he goes whether it’s someone driving by the front pasture, walking down the barn aisle or out on the trail and runs into him. Both horse and non-horse people are always in awe of this gorgeous guy. He is full of dapples and has a silver mane and tail that glimmers like it almost has glitter running through it. Duke has a gorgeous head, kind eye and is built the way a horse should be built. Very correct conformation, good bone and nice big hooves.
We’ve had this gelding around for a little while now and have thoroughly enjoyed having him around. We purchased him off a big cattle ranch in Montana. He was originally bred and raised in Canada. This horse has seen more cattle than there are in our part of the country. He has done just about every aspect of ranch work. Opens and closes gates, has moved herds from one pasture to another, drug cattle to the branding fire and loaded cattle on the semi-trucks. I was also told he has been roped off in the arena and is quiet in the box. We aren’t ropers and don’t have cattle but I can guarantee you this horse has seen and worked a lot of cattle in his 8 years. He is the caliber of horse that you see on Yellowstone. I know one thing I think you could take him to any local sorting and have the fanciest horse there. You usually see a lot of red horses at the cattle sortings so he is one that would definitely stand out amongst the crowd. I also think this gelding could go do gymkhana And or barrel events. He has the speed but only if you want it and ask for it. If you don’t ask he’ll ride around quiet as the day is long and slow lope in the palm of your hand. He is safe and quiet for any level rider but a more experienced rider can also enjoy this gelding and not be bored. True two finger neck rein, turns on his haunches, lopes off from a stand still, stops on a dime and backs up the length of the arena. Duke is very soft in the bridle and moves beautifully.
Before coming here he never saw an English saddle in his life but we put him in English tack and he took to it instantly without ever missing a beat. He has the look, build and movement to go far in the English world. Also helps that he’s an appendix bred horse. I think he could really excel in the dressage arena and I think he would definitely jump as high as you want to go. He jumps cross rails with zero hesitation and has great scope for never having any real jumping experience. This is a very willing, smart gelding that’ll just do whatever you ask and or want him to do. Out on the trails he is absolutely bombproof and goes wherever you point him with zero hesitation. Completely road and traffic safe. Rides out alone or with others. Not buddy or barn sour at all. You can trail ride him and drink a beer, he’s that kind of horse. You can ride him daily or weekly and he is still the same horse every time you swing your leg over.
Duke has exceptional ground manners and no vices what so ever. Cross ties, clips, bathes, ties, trailers, good to saddle and easy to bridle. He is clean legged and 100% sound in every single way. This is an exceptional gelding that’ll last someone a lifetime. He is what I would call the whole package and who doesn’t like a gorgeous dapple grey gelding. This is a stand out kind of horse that all the family and friends can safely enjoy. Fancy enough to go to the horse show and quiet enough to go down the trail. A truly versatile horse that can do it all and do it well while looking good doing it. All pictures and videos are new and show exactly how Duke looks. Any potential buyers are welcome to come meet him at our farm in Allentown NJ 08501. Be sure to watch his YouTube video.
