Bertie is the exact horse everyone looks for but can’t find. He stands 15 hands and has looks to burn with that awesome buckskin color that everyone wants. Words can not describe how gentle and safe this horse is. He is the same horse whether he is ridden regularly or turned out all Winter. Does he have all the buttons and transitions as well as cadenced, pretty movement to go show in all the Ranch classes?? ABSOLUTELY he does…but what makes him even cooler than that, is that when your finished doing that at the end of the day, you can put your small kids or grandkids, or even your novice spouse on him, and turn them loose on him, and never worry a second about if they are safe or not. He has that old fashioned one hand neck rein, so that if you can hold the reins in one hand, he will go wherever you point him. Have we mentioned what a dream he is out on the trails?? Water, brush, weeds over his head, ditches, rough and rocky hills….alone, leading a group, following a group, riding off from a group by himself….Bertie does it all with ZERO issues, refusals, or problems! He stands for the farrier quietly on all four legs, clips easily, bathes, quiet in his stall or gets along great in a herd environment. We have hauled him in a stock trailer as well as a slant, and he hops right in both and backs out with ease. At eleven years old, Bertie has been well seasoned in pretty much any environment you want to take him to. He has been trail ridden, used on the ranch and had a job doing most all ranch chores…sorting, doctoring, branding, and just prowling through pastures quietly. Bertie has also been used at the State 4-H level in the Ranch Classes with great success.
