Elegant jumper and equitation, dressage and eventing type perfect for small adults or pony riders moving up. Bayard started showing in May, 2011 with a novice junior rider and has earned many ribbons.
Bayard has a gorgeous canter that is elastic and easy to adjust. He is light and balanced across the ground with fluidity in all his gaits. Bayard enjoys working under saddle at his young, three year old age. He has been through a small jump chute at liberty and is smart to the fences, and often finds the correct distance on his own. He is brave, honest, and forward, but also highly responsive, and jumps in a clean and tidy style. Bayard is soft in the bridle, and has started professional Dressage training. He is a lovely ride for flat phases, and will be a dependable partner over fences. He would also be a perfect match for Pony Clubbers, or an amateur that also enjoys Dressage.
Bayard is a son of Avalon by Adios III. Adios III was an Olympic level horse in his day and has produced some of the most stunning and athletic foals and grand-foals.
Bayard is a sweet and good-brained gelding with no vices or issues. His future eventing, hunter, dressage or CDE careers are bright when brought up with a trainer. He is a confident partner both inside the ring and out. Bayard is a hard-worker and thrives in a consistent exercise program. He will suit riders moving up with the help of a quality professional, or is ready to win with an experienced rider aiming for the Jr/AO ring.
Bayard is half Hanoverian and half Quarter Horse and is registered with the American Warmblood Society and could be registered with the RPSI registration.
