** The second picture above is a pic of this mare's sire***
Rio's Smokin is a broke mare. I have known her since 02 and have done everything with her... a short list would include parades, rodeos, horse shows (reining and horsemanship), trail rides, moved cows/daywork, english, jumping lessons and more! She has foaled before (buckskin filly). This mare is higly trained and although broke I would not consider her a beginner mount. A skilled youth rider would probably get along just fie with this mare, but I wouldn't neccessarily recommend her for little ones. She rides like a reiner through seat and legs. She is much more forgiving on trails and really will go anywhere for anyone. She LOVES the trails. She is also awesome in the arena and is a great go anywhere do anything kind of horse. She has be ridden bridleless or in just a rope halter. She was a lesson horse at Utah State University for 3 years and went both english and western. have given lessons to beginners on her without a problem. She is very low maintenance and lives in a stall or in communtiy with no problems. She has awesome feet (I do not keep shoes on her and her feet are HARD - have only ever shod her with slide plates when she is showing. She is UTD on shots is reg with AQHA (RIOS SMOKIN foaled 95). This mare has seen it all in her 18 years and she is FUN to ride. I am pregnant with my 3rd child and am just not going to be able to do much with her in the near future and she is too nice to just hang around and wait on me when she could be providing someone else years of enjoyment. She can be bred and has great papers but it isn't her forte, so I am open to partial trades on a younger AQHA mare that is NOT grey that needs some training but may already be started with decent papers.
