*6/16/16 update- had a gf of mine (pictured) out to ride (she has had no prior experience besides while on vacation at rental horse type stables) on Jordan, and boy did they have a blast! Went out for a nice ride while I was on my green colt- Jordy is great leader for the green horses we are training into trail horses. Jordan is that rare horse who would hurt himself before putting his rider in danger. Won't do anything dumb out in woods. Older horses are worth their weight in gold!
Jordan is extremely well broke but is no 'dead head'. He loves to go trail riding and endures anything you ask him to, I've yet to have an issue with him, and we encounter a lot when out. He has experienced many miles trail riding alone with his former owner in southern Ohio, and since he's been with us these last 5yrs. Goes over and through anything. Very trust worthy, I put my 3yr old on him to sit while jordys grazing or in crossties. Ties, clips, loads, no buck, no kick, no bite, this horse won't do anything stupid- he's got a good head on his shoulders. UTD on all shots, farrier, coggins etc.
He loves being brushed and loved on. Definatley an attention grabber. He loves water; rivers, streams, what have you, and no, he wont try to roll with you on him ;-). Big beautiful brown eyes to go with his sweet, loving, and respectful temperment. Super thick tri color mane and tail, and he knows he pretty!
Not spooky at all; baby strollers, motorcycles, semi trucks, lawn mowers, tractors, dogs, gunfire, hunters, back packers, plain old idiots on trail who shouldn't be, hikers 28th large frame backpacks included, nothing. He is very confident out in the woods. He's more of a people loving horse than a horse loving horse so I doubt he will ever get barn sour. This gelding is not ridden all winter and I have never had a problem getting rt on and going out on trails with him after sitting for 5 months, like I did this year, and every year since we have had him. He stands once you mount, won't just start walking off with you before you are ready- like a lot of gaiteds from down south do- and I do like to flex all my horses, before we start walking. Never been lame a day in his life. He is not hot and if you are looking for speed this is not your horse. As I said, Jordan is no dead head by any means, like all Walkers He has a big walk and head shake, but is also happy to plod along loose reined or when hes with a slower group or non gaiteds. He has a lope to die for, it's slower than his walk- almost in perpetual motion, it's that awesome- also has a slow and fast running walk, but he could lope all day and you wouldn't ever want to get off. He also is smooth at a dead run, but again, I'm not selling him as a speed horse. He's 18 now so I'd like to find an owner who will love on him daily, and ride him at least 2 days a week.
Only for sale due to my health issues. My loss is your gain. I only have time for one personal riding horse right now, and although I had intended Jordan become my husband's horse to learn on, he doesn't have the time and Jordy is too good a horse to just sit. He really thrives with a dedicated rider/owner who will love on him, and ride him more than I have been able to this last year due to a spinal disease. My son is now 3 and has been up on Jordan several times since he was 2. Jordy is happy to oblige, but again, I'm not selling him as a child or beginners horse. He is used to smaller children but I wouldn't recommend him as riding horse for them, unless child is older; preteen/teen or beginner adult, is a Confident rider with soft hands and a quiet seat- then they would have a blast on this horse! He's very much 'get him ready and go' type horse, 'no muss no fuss'. I won't sell him to someone to 'learn' to ride on as they tend to be hard on horses mouth and he's earned the right owner/rider. I'm in no hurry to sell him, but if find the right person, happy to make a good match for him.
He's soo beautiful and sweet, he's made myself, and his former owner- we stay in touch on FB so she can always see Jordys page- nothing but happy, and has a charming 'love me!' attitude. Don't let this wonderful horse pass you by! Please call or email for additional photos. I have a ton of pics of us all over the trails, in water, being goofy in barn etc.. My friends 12yr old daughter riding him, and my 2yr old son 'riding' Jordy as well. He's got lots of years left, as I am only his 3rd owner he has never been run down or over ridden in any way. He's a well kept boy and always has been. Please call 414-303-5592 or email firstname.lastname@example.org I am having issues getting emails through this site, so feel free contact me personally. Thanks!
