VIDEO**Extremely Athletic & Well Bred AQHA Ranch/Roping Gelding
If you like a quick, responsive, athletic horse with a lot of handle and action, then you won't want to miss Trooper. He is an own son of NCHA Hall of Famer Doc's Oak, a $10,000,000+ sire and sire of earners over $7.7 million. Trooper is AQHA registered as "Real Chicks Oak", and also traces back to Genuine Doc and Poco Tivio. Check out his complete pedigree at: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/real+chicks+oak Trooper is 14.3 hh and 15 years old but you wouldn't know it to ride him. He has always been well taken care of and hasn't had his wheels run off, so he acts and rides like a horse much younger. He is gentle and very well mannered and has never offered to buck or hump up, even if fresh. Trooper has spent most of his life being used on a large ranch for all phases of ranch work, including roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, roping and dragging bulls, dragging calves to the fire, and sorting cattle in the pens. He is very good on the end of a rope and won't get you into a storm. He will pull anything you can rope and is strong to the horn. Trooper is cowy and will track up and put you right where you need to be. He has an excellent stop and just dies in his tracks when you throw your rope. He would make one heck of a heel horse or a breakaway horse, and could also make a head horse or sorting horse. Trooper is very quick and responsive, with a smooth trot and lope, and an excellent stop. He is light mouthed and will ride in a snaffle or hackamore. Topper is good on both leads, will work off your legs, and open and shut gates. He has been ridden indoors and under lights, as well as along the highway and in traffic and isn't bothered by any of it. Trooper rides quietly out in the pasture but can be a little looky in new places. Will not spook out from underneath you just will be a little looky, but in the arena nothing bothers him or spooks him. He will cross water with no problem, is very sure footed, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He rides great by himself or with other horses, and will leave the group willingly and happily lead or follow. Trooper is a too quick and responsive for children or beginner riders, but intermediate to experienced riders will really enjoy his athletic ability. No matter what you want to do with him, you won't be disappointed, whether you want to ride him for pleasure, use him on the ranch, or take him to the arena and make a rope horse or sorting horse out of him.
