Shelby is 16 years old, but she has the energy level of an 8 years old. She has been my baby for 4 years and we had a lot of fun riding, playing together... but since my human baby was born i cant give her the attention she needs and deserves. She was born on a race track and lived there for 5 years. Then she was owned by a family, then another family, then someone else, then me. I was going to provide her a permenant home but she needs much more than what i can give her anymore.
She is a little head shy (probably coming from the race track) and she needs to build turust in a person. After she has trust, she would do anything for that person.
She has excellent ground manners, she never pushes on the person who leads her, never kicks, never bits and never hits anyone with her head.
She never bucks when ridden and she has never done anything that would harm the rider (im not a great rider).
She stands for the vet, ferrier, dentist without any issues. She is a lady. :)
She has been ridden by english in her whole life and she is very sensitive to the reins, boots and body weight. She easily goes, stirs and stops. She would be great for dressage and possibly jumping. She doesn't have much experience with jumping but a little girl who has been riding her for 5 months now, has jumped her a few times. She did really good so i think she could learn it.
Her sensitivity could probably improve with natural horsemanship if someone had the knowledge, time and passion to practice with her.
I could not ask for a better horse but i feel that she is asking for a better mommy (or daddy) so i really would like to find that special someone who would love her, ride her, entertain her as much as she needs (as much as i used to)
If i find that special someone who would be a good match for her, i may let her go for free.
Please call or email me if you have any questions or are interested in meeting her. :)
