Versitle Pony: Advanced training.
Winston is a coming 7 year old 13.3 gelding. Purchased January 2012 as a project pony. Up to that point he was never handled or ridden. Trained through natural horsemanship method (following Clinton Anderson), Winston is quite advanced and highly intelligent and too smart for raw beginners or timid riders. He is very soft, supple and sensitive with lots of "buttons." His ground manners are phenomenal. Lunges on a loose line at w/t/c from just the point of your hand. Pivots in hand. Backs with just a wiggle of the rope. Yields the hind quarters from just a look.
Under saddle he is light in the face, carries himself nicely with collection. Absolutely no heavy hands as he would over react to such pressure since he's never been introduced to it (and shouldn't). Will pivot, back, side-pass, and 2 track with light leg cues. Stops from any gait with an instant whoa when legs are taken off. Will slide to the stop from the canter. Jumps 3ft beautifully in hand and cross rails under saddle (I currently do not have a small person or child available to school with high jumping but he will when asked).
Not a mean bone in this pony and he thoroughly enjoys a job and new challenge. Not one that needs to set up for long periods of time, although he forgets nothing but he will find stuff to entertain himself.
He is a spirited pony and needs a consistent and serious rider to excel. This pony can go in any direction you want at this point from hunter, jumping, eventing, speed events, endurance rides, etc.
Has been taken to open shows and trail rides for exposure (again, I don't have available a small rider to exhibit him). He has been shown in hand in obstacle challenges in 2013. Very quiet and attentive to his handler in new places.
If you're looking to grab the attention at the show grounds in any discipline, this guy will get it with not only his looks, but his mannerism.
I have references from professional clinicians to judges in NC. Also I reference you to my success in training and showing.
Contact me with questions and additional info. I have videos available from ground work, to riding, and his own play with the horse ball(this really shows his athletic ability).
All medical (vaccines, coggins, dewormers, annual dental floats, and trimming UTD)
