Meet “Hazelnut’s Twiggy” a.k.a. Lakoda, is truly an amazing pony. She is a bay welsh cob that stands 13.2 hands at the withers and weighs 750 pounds. I am 13 have owned her for 4 years now, and they were pretty much the best 4 years of my life. Lakoda wins EVERYTHING!!! I have won SO many highpoint/grand champion awards, trophies and ribbons with Lakoda, I can’t even list them all! The first year I owned her, we won PeeWee Grand Champion at the Washington County Fair 4H Show. The following year, I won Reserve Champion OVERALL out of 120 riders in ALL age groups!! Not to mention a State 4H Trip!! I’ve qualified for Champ Show in all 4 main events (Barrels, Pole Weaving, Jumping Figure 8 and Key), I also won a State 4H Trip this year as well!!! Out of the 4 main events, Pole Weaving is Lakoda’s excel. She zooms through those poles like they’re not even there! We run low 12s and sometimes even mid 11 second runs!! Bit of course, she is amazing at the other 3 events as well. She runs 7-8 second runs in key, 17-18 second runs in barrels, and 16-17 second runs in Jump 8! Let me tell you – she has a lot of spunk, and can get pretty hot at times, so I would not recommend her for a beginner rider. She is HOT, but NOT naughty. She has never bucked on me before, and would never do anything to purposely harm anyone. She is very gentle, but just gets excited because she LOVES her job so much! Lakoda isn’t bratty or aggressive like most ponies are, and she is real sweetheart that you can’t help but love. Lakoda is NOT for a beginner or timid rider. Like I said, she is hot, and a beginner rider might be intimidated by her. She almost never spooks, but likes to go fast on trail rides. If you want a pony that when you show up at a horse show and people see you, they will say “Dang, we all know who’s gonna win highpoint today” – Lakoda is the horse for you!!
DON’T let her age intimidate you. She is still getting faster and faster every day!! Lakoda still has LOTS and lots of years of running in her, so don’t worry!! (: Let me tell you that Lakoda would be EXTREMELY competitive in any age group!!
The ONLY reason I am selling her is because I have grown a bit too tall for her, and I am moving onto my bigger mare. It has nothing to do with Lakoda, but it’s more of a self-consciousness issue if you know what I mean. If she were a little taller, I would say NEVER would I want to sell her!!! I love her soooo much, and it will be a sad day when she sells. I am hoping that a caring, loving family will choose her and love her like I did. Lakoda stands for the farrier, vet and loads in and out of any trailer you put her in. She has never been lame or sick since I’ve owned her, and is a VERY healthy pony. She is UTD on all shots, and she doesn’t need shoes. Like it says in the headline, HER LIME GREEN SADDLE, BRIDLE, TIEDOWN, TIEDOWN STRAP, SADDLE PAD AND HACKAMORE IS INCLUDED!!!
