Trained Jumper and low level dressage gelding with trail miles
Jumper, Low Level Dressage, Trail horse.
Primetime “Pri” is a 12 year old bay , 16.2h Thoroughbred Gelding with a very sweet personality. Pri was bred by a woman in Ohio who bred sport horses, and has never been raced. Before I owned Pri, he was co-owned by two women in their 30s. One woman was active in the A rated Jumper circuit where Pri competed at the 3’6’’ jumpers. Whether you ask him to jump 2’ or 4’ this horse is honest and willing. He loves his job. Over fences Pri does better in a Pelham or elevator bit. He is very honest, flowers, water, jumps don’t phase him. This horse knows his job and excels in arena work and show environments. He is a forward jumper, responding to sensitive aids, seat and leg cues. Because of his forward jumping, I would not suggest him for a beginner. He is the horse that the trainers usually want because they can respect his sensitivity and knowledge. He is the horse a confident rider can move up through the ranks with. Mild mannered TB, not the typical Hot Headed TB. Not a lazy horse, and will do whatever you ask him.
The other lady who co-owned him was a dressage rider, so she spent time refining his flat work. Pri goes fine on the ground in a snaffle. He knows leg yields, side passes, head, haunches, shoulder, and back. He has nice movement with a big trot and a rocking horse canter. He will collect nicely and go on a frame by the rein buckle. He responds well to light and easy cues, no need to get in his mouth and you don't have to ask him twice to work off leg and seat cues.
He does have trail experience and does fine in a group or alone. No buck, rear, bite, or kick. Good laid back trail horse. He trailers like an angel. Loads in and backs out with NO PROBLEMS. Crossties, or stands fine. He bathes, stands for the farrier, no soundness issues and is currently barefoot with great feet. Has been shod in the past and goes fine in shoes too. UTD on everything, teeth floated in February. Lunges on voice command. Perfect from the ground, I would trust a toddler around him, no issues with ground manners, grooming, blanketing or spraying. I keep him on 24-7 turnout with access to shelter. 24-7 round bales and he gets 3 scoops of mixed grain feed a day with access to equilix tubs. He is an easy TB. Currently bare foot, great for farrier. Has been shod, no issues.
He is best suited for an intermediate + rider. He does have a lot of forward movement and is willing to go, maybe too much so for a beginner.
