Nicholas was born on April 7, 2013; Mom is a beautiful 31 in. bay and dad a 33 1/2 in. red roan. Mom and dad are both double registered with the AMHA and AMHR. Nicolas is AMHA registered. Baby hair and winter coat are gone now and his coat has changed to a soft, shiny reddish brown; main, tail and lower legs are black, suggesting that he could be a bay, buckskin or dun. He, his mom and maternal brother all have a full dorsal stripe.
His conformation is great; he has a stately head-up stance, expressive talk-to-you eyes and a beautiful refined head.
He's all boy, busy finding out how everything works, and trying anything that looks adventuresome. He is so fun to be around and to be with. He has the great curiosity characteristic of fast learners, easy to train.
For weaning, we teamed him up with a favorite little mini mare friend and it was quick and super easy. He is a very adaptable little guy and accepted all these changes without any signs of stress.
He is happy, healthy and full of energy. He has a great personality, very friendly, very approachable, very laid back, very compassionate toward the other animals.
Like both mom and dad, he is mild mannered and very easy to be around and to train. He has learned not to nip nor kick nor turn his back to you in disrespect; he will come running from the pasture when you call his name; he will follow you around the yard or the pen; he can eat from your hand without biting; he knows what "no" means.
He is uptodate on vaccinations, worming, hoof trimming and coggins report.
He's a very quick learner, smart enough to be trained to do anything. He would do very well in the show ring (his maternal brother was purchased for the show ring for $7000 and his dad is son of a national champion), pulling a cart (his dad has training in this), and with his conformation and coloring, he will make an awesome herd sire if you want to breed him.
But on top of anything you train him to do, he will always be a fantastic little friend. Because of his temperament, he will be excellent with children or a senior who could use a good, fun friend.
We're looking for a loving family who would like to have a beautiful and bright little horse as a forever friend! He will bless the family who gets him!
