Rex is a 15.3 solid chestnut paint 12 years old. Very sweet natured with great ground manners and melt your heart blue eyes.Great walk, slightly choppy trot, but Im working on it (almost have the jog dialed in) and comfortable canter. Soft mouth and sides. He's been trained Western, but will goes English when he trusts your hands. He perferes a loose rein and I often just ride him in the halter. No horse is bomb-proof, but he's as close as they come. He is wonderful in a group. He was the "spare" horse before I got him. He takes care of his rider if they don't know how to ride. If you show him that you are going to drive, he'll listen. Loves being in a group but good on his own as well. Alone, to start, he will act like he wants to go back to the barn...looking behind him, walking slowly. A small kick and stern "walk on" and he's over it. Good on hills and creeks. Steady with deer and birds. A really solid trail horse. I think he used to show because he doesn't like ring work that much. He gets less relaxed and sharper on the turns. He does what you ask, but you can see him relax and be eager when you leave and start out for the trails. He loads with no effort, a seasoned traveler. I've owned him for close to a year and am forced to sell because I have two horses and can only afford one. Easy to catch. His one vice is that he occasionally cribs. When I bought him, his frogs were badly eatten away with thrush. They are coming back nicely, and he has a great foot. Completely sound. Has every shot out there. Great teeth. Feel free to ask anything.
