Sweet, Sound and Gentle mare!
Carmel is a gem!
Carmel is a 18-20 year old mare. She is stunning and came from excellent blood lines. She is a shorter mare at only about 14.2 hands and a doll. She is a nicely built girl who would be a great advanced beginners horse. She is super smart and willing to please. She loves people and often was kept as an only horse in her past. So she prefers people company over that of horses. She will follow you around in the pasture just like a giant dog. She would do AMAZING with a boy or girl that is horse crazy and wants a best friend that they can hang out and ride.
Carmel has been used as a lesson horse with us and done great. She is no buck no bite no kick. She is a great girl. She is super smart and willing to please. She loves attention and being brushed. She saddles up great doesnt fuss. She is not herd bound, loves treats, and will ride off alone or with a group. She doesnt care if shes the lead horse, or follower. She is the kind of horse that can spend all winter in a pasture with no ride time and next spring be the same horse that was left that fall. She has clearly had a lot of work done with her in the past and is willing and happy to go out and spend time with her people. She is a great girl for an average adult that wants to learn to ride too. This girl doesnt have a mean bone in her body.
She clips, ties, bathes, and trailers with no problem. She is great to groom and will give her feet to the Ferrier. She does great with people of all ages, and has been around cows, sheep, goats, and dogs. Never flinched or showed any issues. Nothing seems to spook this girl. We have ridden her over hills, logs, around barrels and through tarps. She didnt even notice. She stands nicely for the saddle and will let you bounce around when getting on. She doesnt take off as soon as you are in the saddle and will wait for cue. She can be ridden with a bit, hackamore, or just with her bridle. She neck reins, and works off leg pressure. Her only bad habit is she can be a bit shy at first. Not a horse that your going to have to chase through the pasture. But when she first meets you may take about 2-3 min to warm up. Other then that she is in your pocket and ready and willing to do what ever you ask. She would make a great horse for a family that is starting out and wants to start to ride and looking for a family horse.
She was being used as a trail horse for a family before we got her. Between us and them she has put on THOUSANDS of miles on trails, arenas, ect. She has seen about everything and nothing seems to bother her. She is super sweet and would make a great horse for someone who wants a horse that isnt going to take a lot of work to keep up to par. She is an easy keeper and has just had her teeth floated. She is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and is sound. She would do great as a kids horse, or an adult that is looking to get into horses and wants something they can trust to be sane. She is a great girl and we adore her.
We have had her about 6 months. We are only getting rid of her because everyone here has been ridding all summer and we know she has more people to teach to ride and enjoy horses. She is the kind of girl you can take out and ENJOY the ride. You dont have to be worrying about what your horses is doing all the time. She is a great mare!
