Sweet Haflinger Mare for Sale
Mazy is an eight year old, 14.2 Haflinger mare. She was registered when I purchased her but I didn't keep her rigistration up to date. She can be re-registered as I have all of her paperwork. She has been ridden both english and western in a snaffle bit, a curb bit and a bitless bridal. Does well with any one of the three. Although I have never ridden her outside of an arena or a fenced in area my husband has ridden her in the field next door and she did well for him. I feel she would need an experienced rider with a firm hand as she can be a bit pushy at times. Her ground manors are fantastic. She loves going for walks and stops when I stop and will back up when I walk backwards holding her lead rope loosely in my hand. Loves to be fussed over and bathed, brushed and groomed and doesn't mind having her feet trimmed and cleaned or being sprayed with fly repellents. She goes barefoot and is great for the ferrier. She is use to being tied wether it is in crossties or tied to a fence post. She would do fine in a pasture with a run in shelter as she is only stalled during severe storms or bitter cold weather. She also doesn't mind being blanketed during the bitter cold of winter. Mazy is a very brave girl...not jumpy or skidish when I introduce her to new things. She is use to tractors and equipment, cars, tactor trailer trucks and dogs. Gets along well with other horses and has been pastured with calves and goats. She is up to date on her shots and deworming and has her feet done every six weeks, however she is not up to date on her coggins. She walks, trots and canters although it takes a little work to get her into a canter as she is more of a drafty haflinger. She seems to enjoy doing barrels and I feel that with more practice and some weight loss she would really excell in this. This girl is a very sweet girl with lots of potential. Will ride through mud and water and cross fallen tree limbs or ground level poles with no hesitation. I have thrown a ball at her, under her and have kicked it between her legs from directly behind her, I have walked her over tarps, placed them on her back and have even walked into her stall and opened an umbrella with no response what so ever from her. I have shared bottled water with her and she drinks like a pro from a water bottle. I cannot tell you just how smart this horse is! Reason for selling her: Not enough time to work with her. She requires being worked two or three times a week and actually seems to enjoy being worked with. If your looking for a smart, fun girl...this girl is for you. A good home is a must for this brave girl.
