Skinny Dippin Slew or "Annie" is a 9 year old chestnut mare with a blaze and 4 socks. She is very level-headed and super willing to try whatever you throw at her. If you aren't into English/jumpers, she would make a great trail horse.
Walks/trots/canters and has been to several shows. Has seen the barrel racing/pole bending/flag race patterns, and has also competed in English pleasure/equitation and Western equitation classes, as well as trail.
Anyone can ride her (I would feel safe putting an older child or husband on her)--she is not spooky at all, and nothing bothers her (cars driving by, tractors/big machinery, birds flying up, etc.). She loads, lunges, stands tied, and is perfect for the vet and farrier. No bite or kick, and no rearing as long as you don't put a tie-down on her. Does not need to be lunged before you get on, and not hot under saddle. Very comfortable with walking on a loose rein. We have been working on transitions (walk-trot-halt-back) to get her using her back properly, and have also been working on standing still (being an off-track Thoroughbred, this was something she never knew until she met me). She is gentle on turnout blankets, respects fencing, and goes barefoot with rare trims (great feet for an ex-racehorse). She does great with other horses and gets along with everyone. Even though she's a mare, you can't tell when she's in heat...she's very easy going.
Annie is built to be a hunter/jumper, and as much as I'd love to work with her on it, I don't believe in green working with green, and I know next to nothing about jumpers. Since I compete in gaming, I'm looking for more of a western pattern/rail/pleasure type horse and am open to trades.
For someone who is looking for your next trail horse, or a great horse to train for jumping/HUS, Annie is your girl! She is an awesome gal, and I think she has great potential...it's not fair for her to put up with someone (me) who knows nothing about jumping, and who doesn't want to just ride trails all day. She will have her teeth floated in December, and hooves were just trimmed. She had spring vaccinations and is current on Coggins.
