Large 16 hand Missouri Foxtrotter for sale! This guy is FULL of love, sweetest horse you'll ever meet. He's incredibly gentle on the ground, and he absolutely adores attention. Padre is perfectly safe with little kids around, and he has never offered to kick or bite. He's very desensitized, and you can do just about anything to him on the ground. He picks up all four feet, loads, bathes, takes shots, and stands for the farrier. He's been barefoot since he was three years old, and his hooves are beautiful! Padre is built narrow (I think he was gelded a bit early?) but he is a very easy keeper. He's never been severely injured or had any serious illnesses while we've had him.
This horse has the smoothest gait I've ever ridden. He has long, powerful strides, and he loves to move. His gait is very even, and his foxtrot is a dream to ride. He is by far the most comfortable horse to ride that I've ever owned.
Padre can be ridden with a hackamore, although he takes a bit as well. He can be ridden bareback or with a saddle, it doesn't matter to him.
We are selling Padre because I no longer have the time to ride him. He needs someone who will ride him consistently, and who has a lot of space to ride in. Padre loves to GO!! He has a lot of energy, and is an awesome trail/endurance horse. He is not a beginner horse, and I would not trust put an unsupervised child on his back. He is gentle with children, but he has a lot of energy and wants to move. I would highly reccommend an intermediate to advanced rider for Padre. He is excellent with trail riding, and would make an awesome endurance racing or barrel horse.
Padre has been ridden on trails all his life. He swims in the lake, crosses streams, navigates trails, and is completely safe around cars and on public roads. He jumps fallen trees without hesitation! We've shot arrows off of his back, he's been around guns, 4-wheelers, dogs, you name it. He can be ridden with other horses around, but he does best when he is out alone. He is a leader, and does not like to be left behind. He has never been barnsour, and he loves to go out for rides.
Padre does not buck or rear. Sometimes he will crowhop when he is very excited or angry, but it's pretty rare, and it's easy to stop him. He does not bolt, and it's hard to spook him. He has never tried to intentionally buck someone off, or hurt anybody.
Padre has been with our family for 10 years, and it's hard to see him listed for sale. He is fully registered with the Missouri Fox Trotting Breed Association, and he comes with his papers.
We are not looking to trade, (unless you have a Friesian!) serious inquiries only please.
Contact me via text to my email address, or by emailing me directly. You can call my cell phone, but I am a college student and am usually in class until 5 PM. I have many more photos of Padre as well.
