Forge is a beautiful, registered Tennessee Walking horse (registered name Crescent Zydeco/Reg #21002794) who is looking for a great new home. He was born June 15, 2010 and currently stands 15-15.1 hands and about 800 lbs. He is going to be a big boy, and he is a real looker. He is a true black (will fade a little in Eastern WA sun), has a thick mane and tail, with 4 gorgeous knee-high white socks and a very unusual blaze. He is gaited, though is more often seen trotting.
Forge has been at the trainer for the past 6 weeks getting a good solid ground-work natural horsemanship foundation by a trainer who interned under Steve Rother. He leads, loads, ties, stands to have his feet trimmed (or even hand rasped), can be blanketed (wears a 72"), is decent for worming, and has been saddled a couple times. The trainer told me that Forge is a very smart horse who is going to make a phenomenal riding horse.
Forge is not a pocket pony, but would excel with liberty work and has a HUGE curiousity about everything that goes on around him. He is low man on the totem pole in my herd of geldings, and is an easy keeper. He respects hot wire fencing. To my knowledge he has never been stalled, but he will go into my run-out shed to get out of the rain and wind.
I am looking for a home who will start him gently and enjoy everything he has to give. He can really move out, and is generally a fun horse to be around. I am asking $1500 for Forge (I do have papers in-hand) but would consider a partial trade. If Forge sounds like a match for you I would love to hear from you and have you come meet him.
A couple pics here are from the original owner, along with pictures I have taken over the 10 months I have owned him. Right now he is fuzzy, but I can also provide a video link of him being worked in the past month.
