Ryszard is a stunning 2011 black Hanoverian gelding. He is sired by Rubignon (Rubinstein/Donnerhall/Pik Solo) and out of the outstanding mare, Weltlan (Weltmeyer - Domingo). Rubignon hardly needs an introduction and is known for his lovely temperament and incredible movement. His dam, Weltlan, is an impressively bred Hanoverian mare by “stallion of the century”, Weltmeyer. He was the champion of his stallion licensing in 1988 and won his stallion performance test in 1987 with an impressive 143.96 overall score. He went on to be the Federal Champion 3 year old riding horse in Germany. After producing several outstanding foal crops, Weltmeyer was awarded Hanoverian Stallion of the Year in 1998. Weltmeyer’s production record is countless, with nearly 100 licensed stallions and 250+ State’s Premium mares. Weltmeyer is known for passing on excellent conformation and extravagant movement. Weltlan’s dam, Dom Perignon was the Champion Hanoverian mare at her inspection, receiving scores of 9 for head and type/femininity and 8’s for neck, saddle position, frame, conformation, and impulsion and elasticity. We were so happy with Ryszard that we repeated the cross for 2012 and 2014. This gelding is bold and inquisitive with an ‘in your pocket’ personality. He is handled daily and well socialized. He is very laid back and quiet, you can tell he is going to be easy to bring along. He is happy to get a good scratch as a reward for anything. Excellent conformation, super movement, and a jet black coat. Personality plus! Ryszard has been worked a lot on the ground and was hauled around to several rated shows as a weanling. He was always easy to get on & off the trailer, took in the new surroundings of the show grounds well, and has been a pleasure to work with. We recently moved to a new, larger farm and he settled right in. Ryszard started showing on the line in DSHB, finishing his first show as Reserve Champion Foal at the NW FL Classic I show and qualifying for the USDF Southeast Breeders’ Championships at only one month of age. He finished the 2011 season as the 3rd highest scoring Hanoverian weanling colt in the US and ranked 7th across all breeds. This gelding will mature to 16.2-17.1 hh. He is handled daily and very friendly.
