Willie is a great horse that is very smart, easy to train, and willing to please. He neck reins, ponies other horses, knows leg cues, side passes, backs, and is learning lead changes.
Was previously a ranch horse, and has done sorting and team penning. He is currently a trail horse, and also does well in an arena.
He has very smooth gaits, a nice slow lope, but also has the speed WHEN asked. He also has great brakes!! He will honestly do what is asked of him.
Great ground manners. Quietly stands while tied, groomed, saddled, mounting/dismounting, bathes, fly spray, etc., etc. Great for the farrier and vet (even with shots, worming, etc.,) Jumps right in the trailer and just chills, no pawing or kicking. Gets along with geldings & mares, and is mid to low in the herd. Very easy keeper. Keeps his stall tidy too.
He is listed as a 4 in temperament because he is not a lazy horse and can go all day, but is not a hot head either.
Willie is not a beginners horse, and would be best suited with a confident rider. He would also make a great 4H horse for an upper level/older 4H'r.
I'm hoping to find him a home where he will be ridden/worked more than once week. Unfortunately, my job requirements have recently changed and I am unable to give him the time he deserves, which is why he is for sale. I have more than 1 horse, so I had to make the hard decision on who stays and who goes :(
UTD on coggings, vaccinations, teeth, feet, and de-worming.
A good home is a MUST. Price negotiable for the right home!
