Gunner is an own son of Real Gun, the 2004 AQHA Superhorse of the Year who has 473 AQHA points. His dam is an own daughter of Smart Chic Olena, NRHA Hall of Fame and 10 Million Dollar Sire. Gunner was raised on the 7S Stuart Ranch in Waurika, OK. He is parentage verified. We purchased him as a 2 year old. He has a natural slide and is a very quick learner. This horse is the complete package.....exceptional conformation and disposition, athletic and extremely smart. Gunner is a lined back dun but registered buckskin as per AQHA direction due to lack of barring on his legs . He acts like a gelding when you are using him but is a proven sire and will be a stallion when you want him to be. He has been pasture and hand bred and throws color. This horse was trained in reining. He was shown in 2 NRHA shows in May of 2009. He placed 3rd in a Green Horse Class in Lincoln and won the same class at his second show in Broken Bow, NE. Lifetime earnings are $1,000. We decided to sell him as we did not have the funds to continue to campaign him and no longer needed 2 stallions with our herd reduction when we moved to to Belle Fourche. Sadly, the purchasers ran into financial difficulties and were unable to finish making payments so we got the horse back late in 2010. We started Gunner in team roping in 2011. He took to it quickly. This horse has exceptional arena presence and that calm - willing disposition that makes him the perfect choice for beginner or pro. He has been rode in and out of the arena. He has been used at brandings dragging calves to the fire. He has a lot of cow and could easily be trained in working cow horse, reined cow horse or cutting. Anybody can ride this horse. You won't know he is a stallion when you are on him. His colts have his fabulous disposition, athleticism and are quick learners. His first colt crop was in 2007. He has 32 registered foals.
