Well I have been on here seeking two things. A bomb proof mare, for a friend who lacks the basic essential horse knowledge needed to tell a good broke "bomb proof" mare from one that is the exact opposite. Well I found a mare, now I need to find the horse I was looking for.
First off I am looking for a young 2-6 year old horse that is a great jumping prospect or one that was still with in the age range I am looking for, that's at least green over the jumps. I currently own no horses of my own, though I have worked as a stable hand, groommen and as a part time trainer. The horse type I am looking for would fall under a light breed, with either English pleasure and some jumping experience as well as needing to be at least 15.3 hands, younger horses hoping to mature at 16-17 hands or one that has parents with these qualities. Breed doesn't matter nor does color, though I would like the horse to be registered. Personality needs to be between a 1-5 as I would have kids near this horse alot and probably teaching them basic riding lessons once I know the horse is fully broke. The less spookable the better, the boarding facility is near a a busy rode and lots of cars pass by.
I also have a budget, this economy has limited me to only having $1,500 for an actual horse, since my old trailer went and broke down I am seeking another trailer as well. Just in case you have one of those as well that you would be willing to sell. Which I am hoping is easier to find than a great jumping prospect.
I can also send images (if the sale is good) of the boarding facility that I will be keeping the horse plus send monthly updates and photos/videos if requested. As well as allowing timely plan visits so you can personally check up him/her. I know that some people sell their horses because they can no longer keep them for a number a reasons, even when they don't want to but it's needed for what ever reason.
I do live in an area near Tappahannock Va, so if you are far away from there I will mostly not be able to get there, specially if you are close to the mountains. Unless it is a free jumping prospect, with in the age range. Mares and gelding preferred though I have plenty of experience with stallions both mild and overly fresh so I will consider well behaved young stallions as well.
I like to make a preliminary visit to meet the horse, to gauge his/her attitude and personality, check for basic vices. If broke I do like to watch him/her be ridden as I can see if they have a gait, limps anything unusual. If its good I will either pay up front then, or return with both money and a trailer at your convenience.
