Saddle set is sold and gone, and with it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You can still look at the pictures and wish you would have moved on it when it was still available, though :(
Listed for your consideration here is one of the nicest original full floral carved Hamley & Company saddle sets you will ever come across. It comes complete with a matching maker-marked Hamley breast collar and Hamley marked saddle bags. The bags are like new and although not tooled, they do match the saddle for fit. These bags alone are deeply marked on both sides and are like none other I’ve ever seen in terms of quality. The bags are worth well over $500 by themselves. I have the certificate from Hamley which will go with the saddle. It’s built on a quarter horse bullhide wrapped tree. The saddle has a true 16” seat which is covered like a padded seat with the fancy stitching, but the padding is very minimal, so it rides more like a slickseat. Although the saddle was made in 1965, it is NOT one of those oldies that’s been brought back to life. In other words, it is NOT a refurbished saddle. It's in virtually new condition due to minimal use and excellent care. Milt Larson was the maker- one of Hamley’s BEST! There is no checking or cracking anywhere in the leather, and it’s totally original throughout. The tooling is as deep and rich all over the saddle as the day it was completed. It’s like going back in time and buying a saddle in 1965 it’s so new in terms of its condition. Even the straps on the breast collar are like new! It’s seen very, very little use, and it’s been excellently maintained, cleaned, and oiled. Even the back girth is like new just like the rest of it. It has the 5053 flat plate double rigging in the 7/8ths position, and the front rings are marked Hamley. The swells are about 12” across and are the Hamley roper style- drop well for roping. With that being said, this saddle has never been roped off of, and it’s very obvious. I hate dearly to even list this rig, but I need to move it. Most of you probably know that to have a saddle like this made today, especially as a set, would cost around 5K or more, and, I’d have to question whether the craftsmanship would stand up to this one. You’ll get the saddle with all the parts, saddle bags, the genuine Hamley certificate, and the breast collar shipped to you in a nice box. The shipping costs will be based on where you live from north Georgia. I can send extra pictures if you’d like, just call or email me. This is an extremely rare opportunity to get an original Hamley set with this full-sized seat and like-new condition. Phone- 770-893-1201. Thanks.
