Blackburn Onyx is an extremely nice Black gelding. He is solid black, with not a stitch of white on him. He stands at 14.2 and is still growing. I expect him to fill out at a stocky and solid 15h. He has had over 90 rides on him this past fall. "Onyx" has been ridden indoors, wide open pastures, and down the road. He has had a lot of ground work and doesn't spook easily. He has a very solid disposition and quiet demeanor. Everything I have asked him to do, he does willingly, quietly and without a fuss. He has been around cattle and has been used to halter break colts this fall. He crosses water, goes through brush, over bridges and tarps, drags the log, and rides great alone or with others. He has been around dogs, tractors, and four-wheelers. He stands for the farrier, loads in the trailer, and stands quiet for all vet work or tacking up. Onyx is one of the most athletic and honest youngsters I have ridden. Onyx could go anyway: ranch work, reining, roping box, barrel pattern, or just for trail riding. Give him a job and finish him out the way you like. His full brother is a family ranch horse in Watford City and his full sister is an event/gaming horse in Minnesota. Both have reached over 15h. Onyx has a lot of top performers in his background, Blackburn, King, Doc Bar, Poco Blackburn, Colonel Freckles, Peppy San Badger, Doc OLena, Leo, and Blondys Dude. His pedigree is full of AQHA, NCHA, NRHA pt and $$ earners. Onyx will be current on shots, dewormer, trimmed, and guaranteed 100% sound. This gelding's Sire, Mr Blackburn 946, has a ROM in Reining, Barrels, Poles, and AMT Working Cow, as well as a World Champion producing Sire. This gelding has siblings fancy enough to go to France (4), a ½ brother who was the 2008 USTR World Champion Heading Horse, several siblings winning in the rodeo and show arena in cutting, reining, and barrel racing, as well as several siblings earning their livings working on the ranch. Asking price $3000 OBO. Check out his video of him doing a little bit of work for the first time. http://youtu.be/WtxB23AFVfU
