Needs an experienced rider, he has a lot of energy and likes to work. He was started when he was three and has been ranch ridden and has gathered big country. He is smooth riding and travels out well in the mountains, swamps and thick timber. He is good around cattle and dogs. I started heeling a few calves last fall on him, he has held a cow before. He is good around the barn, trailer and to shoe. He has never pulled back at the lead rope. He is a little cinchy in the morning, a few circles loosens him up. He is soft in the mouth and poll. I have rode this horse hundreds of miles in the last four years and he has bucked three times. We gather hard steep rocky country and he knows the mountains. He is sure footed. He is strong and he has been the horse I take when I know the day will be long and hard. Every time I ride him he comes back with a sweaty blanket, he knows what work is. He's got a few quirks, but he works hard. I am being honest because I want people to know what he is. I've got a colt coming up next spring to ride and I won't have enough rides to keep all the horses busy. Rawhide is a horse that likes to work and keep busy. Price negotiable.
