A Mite Sassy a.k.a. Karma is an unfortunate product of non-payment for fees incurred. She is a well bred Appaloosa mare with exceptional training an riding experience. I will not recommend her for an absolute beginner because she will excel an be better suited for an intermediate or above riding level. She is quick an responsive but is safe enough for a beginner with instruction.
Karma has been handled/rode predominately by two green 14yr old girls. This mare was their first horse an was purchased as a training project. She was started late in life ( September 2010) and was started by the girls under trainer supervision. Karma was riding under saddle out of the round pen at day 3 of training an going down the trail at week two of training. She has since taken first time riders as young as two down the trail.
Karma will ride western, english, bare back an double ( in front or behind rider an bare back). She will go out in a hack, snaffle, or halter an lead rope with no issues. She is road/traffic safe an handles obnoxious drivers with ease.
Karma has also participated in large parades an organized trail rides. She has been hauled to many local trails an qyumkana events. Always well behaved an displaying a easy to handle attitude. Karma bridles well am will ride on a loose rein or collect easily. She is loaping the barrel pattern an really enjoys herself. With a inexperienced rider she runs 23-25 second times. With a experienced rider she has been in low 17's. She has also been started on poles. She is willing to take a jump an has gone as high as 2'6".
Karma learns quickly and is very willing to please and adores the company of people. She has a very smooth trot an canter with a ground covering walk. She is a superb obstacle horse who also enjoys the parelli games and all around trail activities. She has good trail manners and camps well. Karma stands for vetting, washing, farrier, saddling, ties (overnight), crosses water including deep.
Karma has gone through extensive desensitization including bags, tarps, 50 gallon drums, rain coats, cell phones an other items. She has had a rope thrown off her a couple times an showed no reaction. She has a solid walk, trot, an canter ques. She has a solid stop, back an stands quietly in all environments she has been exposed to.
I want to be completely honest an represent Karma accurately an list all vices to the best of my knowledge. Karma has been boarded with me since time of purchase and I handle her daily. From April 2011 to October 2011 she was rode a minimum of 4 times weekly. Karma has had limited riding since October 2011. Her rider developed the attitude she needed a different horse because her family advanced to other horses ( rode 20+ year olds an retired them). The rider started to encourage negative behavior an rewarding it in hopes her parents would buy her a new horse. After this was brought to everyone's attention actions were took to correct behavior. Her rider would come out an work on ground manners but would not ride often ( 2-3 times a month). Jan 1st of this year the family relinquished karmas ownership and papers to me for fees that had incurred.
Karma tends to get over excited at grain time an can be rude. Not aggressive but inpatient. She also must have an electric fence, she will respect it as long as its on. Karma currently needs work with riding down the trail solo. The girls always rode together. Karma will back an circle but with encouragement she will go. She will also rub her head on you to itch after a ride. All the behaviors are currently being worked with an corrected.
Karma will be entering training February 1st. She will be worked with on going out alone, side passing, leg ques, counter flexing, counter cantering, proper leads and yields. She will also be worked on rollbacks, stops an proper head position/collection. She is not current (2012) on vetting or hoof care. However she is scheduled to have coggins pulled, shots updated an teeth floated first week of March. She will also have hoof care updated mid February. She was exposed to a 2yr old ApHC grandson of Awe Striker 100% color producing stallion during April-May 2011. She has not been confirmed in foal an I have witnessed her have at least 2 heat cycles.
