Enjoying the water
Handsome, intelligent horse seeking younger riding partner. It was love at first sight and I thought she would be my forever-owner. But as she approaches 70, even I cannot ignore how difficult it is for her to mount and dismount, or to get the saddle up over my back. I stand ever-so patiently as long as she needs, but no amount of patience will make her younger. It is time to move on, for both of us.
I believe the best partnerships start with shared interests and I enjoy nothing more than a good trail ride. Happy to go out on my own or with a group. I’ll lead, day or night, or follow – through any kind of terrain. I do enjoy water – creeks, streams and even a frolic along a Lake Michigan beach (fresh water surf, how cool is that!). Just ask and I will move out in the smoothest running walk you’ve ever ridden; want a bit more speed? I also rack. And I do love a good long canter – just sit back and enjoy.
It’s always fun to explore new places, so I am happy to load in the trailer and take off for new adventures. I’m accustomed to sharing space with bicycles, walkers, ladies pushing strollers, cars and trucks of all sizes and descriptions, four-wheelers, and motorcycles. Hunters and guns (as long as they are not pointed at me) are just part of the landscape.
I’m up-to-date on all my shots and have a current Coggins. I had my routine dental appointment about 14 months ago. I’ve been barefoot for the past three years and my podiatrist says my feet are strong and healthy. Certainly I’ve never had any problems with any terrain – not even after 5 wonderful long summer days on the trails at Hoosier National Forest.
I’ll miss the old girl, but this is for the best. Call me and let’s get acquainted. KoKo
