16 year old, 16 hand, grey, Percheron/Hanoverian mare.
Jumper, Fox Hunting, Cross Country, Barrel Racing, Cutting, Roping, Cattle Work, Team Driving, Breeding.
Mel is a very powerful mare who is not afraid of anything. She will jump anything and has proven in the jumper shows to win practically everything with her speed and athleticism. She was imported from Canada as a youngster, started barrel racing, working cattle, driving, etc. She started her jumping career as an 8 year old and she loves to jump! I have owned her for 10 years. She is primarily ridden and shown by a more advanced 13 year old girl. Has been jumped 5' triple oxar at home, and shown at 4'. Flying lead changes, collected and extended gates, lateral movements and low level dressage basics. She tends to be strong on the bit, needs a more advanced rider or someone who doesn't mind going fast. She will lunge on voice commands. She is very sociable and the top of the pecking order, but gets along with most any animal. Stands for the farrier, loads in any trailer and backs out, body clips, swims, etc. Only offering for sale due to the expenses of a new baby. Make an offer.
Full lease for $300 per month board, plus vet/farrier expenses.
Half lease for $150 per month board, plus half of vet/farrier expenses.
Third lease for $100 per month board, plus 1/3 of vet/farrier expenses.
