VIDOES AVAILABLE Red had a well-managed race career. He started 21 times and won 5 races and over $100,000 at the track. He retired sound and is learning quickly and really enjoying his new career.
Red is traffic safe and has been ridden on trails. He will go out alone or in a group. He's a very independent horse and is very willing to work. He is one of the smartest horses I've ridden. I've even put some of my completely inexperienced friends and a 9-year old girl that comes out for lessons on his back. He always behaves like a gentleman.
Moves off leg pressure: leg yields, side passes, counter-bend circles, rollbacks, and his spins are coming along. He has a nice stop and is light in the bridle. I ride him in either a D-ring snaffle or a Jr. Cow Horse bit and he is always very responsive.
He's been hauled to a couple shows this season and I have just started to exhibition him. He is handling everything very well. The hustle and bustle of the show scene doesn't rattle him at all.
Red ties, loads, bathes, stands for vet and farrier. He is UTD on his coggins and deworming. He is a pretty easy keeper compared to most thoroughbreds.
My reason for selling him is that I cannot afford to go to school in the fall and compete on a regular basis. I hate to see this athletic, sweet-minded boy sit in a pasture. He deserves to be out showing and competing. I am going to continue to haul and compete with him throughout the summer until sold. Hate to part with this gorgeous boy.
