Outstanding Trail Gelding with Dressage Basics
Kieron is an 11 year old, 17hh, 1700 lb. gelding. His primary use over the past 5 years has been as a trail horse, however he has been taught some basic dressage skills and has room to grow as a dressage mount.
KK is about a solid as it gets on the trails. He is not afraid of anything including wildife, machinery, vehicles, ect. He has been on group rides with hundreds of horses, or will ride out alone. KK crosses bridges, loves water, will go anywhere you point him. He has been overnight camping and sill stand tied. Because he is so steady on the trails, I have been comfortable placing novice riders on him for trail riding. He will also pony other horses anywhere.
KK has had some basic formal dressage training, although he has not been used for this for several months so would need a bit of a refresher course. He walks, trots, and canters - his canter needs a bit of work to but he always picks up his leads and has a rocking horse canter.
Due to lack of equipment, I have never trained KK in harness, however, due to his extemely nice temperment, I'm sure it would take no time at all.
KK is UTD on vaccines, worming, teeth floating, feet, ect. He is and has always been barefoot.
KK loads into any trailer, stands for the farrier/vet, bathes, clips, ties, ect. He has great ground manners.
KK was gelded as a 3 year old and thus needs to be in a herd of all geldings, or he needs to be the only gelding with all mares. He is dominant in a mixed group. Otherwise, he is a very easy keeper.
Please contact Mandy for further information or additional pictures. I just don't have enough time for him and he deserves to get more attention. An excellent home is an absolute must for this fella.
