Merlin is a retired flat-shod Western Equitation show horse. He hated it, and was very protective of his mouth when we first got him.
In the 2 years I've had him, we've become best friends. I've had knee surgery as well, and I'm beginning to lose the seat needed to ride him well.I'm getting older and he is just a bit too strong for me, so I'm sadly having to part with him.
His new rider must be experienced with Walkers, kind with your hands, understanding of a horse trained with fear as the major component of his education. Some dressage work would be a plus, as we use the half-halt more than we use the reins to slow him down or stop him.
Butchers need not respond. I know mot of you by now, so save us both the time.
