Looking for: good eq CC saddle to fit Quarter Horse.
Hi, I'm looking for a nice used close contact english saddle for under $700 dollars. I've been riding in Bates and Wintec, and the paneling does not suit my horse at all. She has big shoulders, and a big dip behind them, causing many saddles to drop in the front, no matter the tree size. I'm looking for something that will fit a horse built like that, and will also improve/help my jumping and flat position, as I have been jumping in an AP... and it's been very difficult to ride correctly. Preferrably, I would like a saddle that does not have CAIR paneling as I am not a fan at all. I am looking for a medium to medium/wide tree, with a 17" to 17.5" seat, padded flaps [and pencil knee rolls if possible], with a flatter seat and narrow twist that will work with me over jumps, and on the flat. No Smith-worthington's, Wintecs, or Bates saddles please. They do not suit me or my horse. If you have a saddle as I have descried, please please please contact me. I'm really starting to dive in to the hunter/jumper show ring, and I need a nice used saddle to advance with me. Also, if you're willing, I have a 17.5" brown Wintec 2000 with cair and the adjustable tree that I am willing to trade partial or full. It has served me well throughout the years, and is GREAT for flatting. Very comfortable, and correct. Rides more like a dressage built saddle that a jumping, so it's not idea for big fences as it can get in the way of an effective position. Billets are in great condition, as is the tree and sueded on the knee rolls and seat. This saddle can come with big knee blocks, or the little pencil ones... or both. The underside [paneling] have some cosmetic scratches on them from accidentally putting it up on the saddle rack that had been painted white the day before but it does not affect the panels or the fit at all. It is just cosmetic. Like I said, wonderful saddle. Great for a starter saddle, and for training. I have competed in it, and it has helped me feel wonderfully secure, even when my horse turned into a fire breathing monster mare. :]
