Paint gelding direct to slaughter pen when we were there to pickup Lost on Appeal and Skye. His tail has been chopped off put it will grow back... sometimes we find the horses that were destined for slaughter with tails cut - the hair is sold for crafts and other things Tonto was saved through "Another Chance 4 Horses, Inc." Which is a Rescue, Rehabilitation and Placement is a non-profit 501c(3) corporation that assists horses through surrenders, neglect cases, local auctions outbidding kill-buyers, buying sick or injured horses and purchasing directly out of the kill pens - sometimes literally moments before they are shipped to slaughter.
